Alexandria Griffith: outside reading
Earlier today I read an article that talks about environmental concern involving men and women. The article went on to say that women tend to have a larger amount of concern for the environment and the world that we live in than men do. But, the number difference is not large. The study was able to determine that both men and women are becoming much more environmentally aware and are more likely to make changes now than they would have been in the past. The article goes on to show that both men and women are making changes in the right direction, so the slight number differnce showing women statistically care more about the environment does not hold great value. The article talks about how both men and women are recycling more, taking shorter showers, and cutting down on waste. I enjoyed reading this article and was not suprised by the statistics that I saw. I guessed that women would statistically care more about the environment than men, but I guessed that the numbers would be close. Which they were. I did not realize though that both genders were making large changes in the right direction to help better the world we live in and to help future generations. Overall, the article helped to open my eyes and make me realize more people are making changes than I thought.
(I cant find the article I was reading, this was is older but it has a lot of good statistics)
