Caitlin McClafferty- Use Less Stuff Reading

The other day I decided to read a book called Use Less Stuff by Robert Lileinfeld and William Rathje. The book talks about how the most sustainable thing to do is to consume less stuff. The less you buy, the less resources are used and the less pollution is made from the process. Every product you buy takes up resources to make, along with creating a lot of waste in the process that we don't see as the buyers.

They also made sure to emphasize how sometimes the more sustainable thing to do is the more simple thing. An example they talked about was how instead of recycling at someone's home, the individual drives really far away to drop off the items at a facility. If you have a gas guzzling car you are doing harm instead of the more sustainable thing. They talked about weighing the resources used from both options, and then deciding what the better option is. The most sustainable thing we an do, is use less.
