Emily Griffin - Reflection on Veganism Video

It was very interesting seeing the short videos in class today and learning about how veganism is actually not good for the environment. Which I was surprised by, but after it was explained I understand that being vegan and eating naturally produced products (nuts, berries, etc) is not harming the environment. It is the processed food like corn or soy and the space that these over produced plants take away from the more sustainable approach of cows grazing on weeds and grasses because the corn and soy would have to be replanted each year and that ruins the soil and release sequestered carbon. While I understand this thought I am conflicted because cows are also a large source of methane production which is a greenhouse gas that is adding and trapping heat in the atmosphere. So how do we deal with that negative aspect that contradicts the argument against veganism and plant based agriculture?
