Emmy Bassarab - Columbian Exchange

We recently read an excerpt about the Columbian Exchange for class. I thought it was interesting how before Columbus went to North America many places grew separate crops and had different animals. It is very different from how the world operated today. All year round you can fine many different fruits and vegetables readily available in grocery stores. Reading about the Columbian Exchange made me think about how aristocratic families used to rent pineapples for decoration. Now you can find pineapples in any store across the US. It’s a fascinating topic to think about and I hope to be able to discuss it in depth later on.
