Emmy Bassarab - Water Documentary
One thing that I learned from watching the water documentary was that we are in a water crisis. There are many things that I could talk about regarding the water documentary, but I’d like to talk about the solutions that the documentary proposed at the end. The Earth can bounce back, it’s very elastic, so it is not too late to save our water. I think that in order to achieve that, we need to be doing exactly what the documentary said. Return water back to its cycle. Stop over-pumping ground water, because that can cause cities to collapse. We need to be less reliable on world trade regarding food. So much water is lost from natural watersheds because of trading food. Even creating natural dams in order to return the water back to its cycle. The water issue is also not just about running out of water, it’s also a climate issue. Recently cities in China have been seeing record breaking temperatures, to the point where cities are having to manipulate the weather with chemicals. All this is doing is contaminating the limited water that we have. That we will eventually run out of, if something doesn’t change.
